My name is Genesis Britz and I am a first-generation student at The University of Texas at Austin where I am a double major in Government and Political Communications with a minor in Philosophy. I am a proud UT For ME Dell Scholar, ambassador of the women’s resource agency, member of Student Government, and Chair of the Latino Caucus for University Democrats. I also volunteer as a member of UT TRUE, teaching refugees/immigrants English for public schools in Austin ISD. I recently got accepted into the Averie Bishop Fellowship and I became a member of the Policy Writing Cohort and Media Cohort. In addition, I had the privilege of working for campaigns around Travis County and as a debate judge for tournaments across Texas. As the daughter of a teacher and a product of the public education system, I am excited to enter my second year of college as part of the Texas Education Alliance Team.
